26 but wait! there's more!

I know there is! At least two shows and two weddings and a few portraits...

So these include some of the portraits, some drama and make up and a couple different styles of capturing motion.

These are from my first year. I like working with black and white, light and reflections and texture.

23 okay, this is for you Valentine!

This is going to be really rough. My number one goal tonight is just to get the images up for you and Jeremy to see as requested! So it might just be an overload of pictures lacking any amount of organization, okay? Just don't judge me!

Okay these were the first I found, they're not exactly images I photographed, but ones I Photoshopped to create, so I think they offer a sense of the style, design and balance I enjoy.

I'm currently working toward a specific request by a bride to see my work (so probably related to weddings and portraiture) but I'm a little OCD about the posts going up in chronological order according to the work they feature, so I apologize for the number of mostly blank posts there will be...

Beginnings

I used to have a website...and business cards...I thought I was going to start up my own business after finishing school to do portraiture.

I knew it would take a long time to really get going.
I knew the equipment to be on a professional level would be expensive.
I knew it wouldn't be reliable income for possibly 10 years.
I knew it was (and still is) a very difficult industry to break into.

What I didn't know was how little I really knew about it, on both the technical and business side of things. Then I met Rick, who has taken me under his wing and is teaching me what it takes to be a professional photographer. Out of respect for my partnership with him, a few new realizations (and financial reasons) I have removed my website. I realized it was much less of a portfolio of fair competition to other established photographers and more of a simple testament of my journey into the realm of photography (which is still very interesting though maybe not best displayed through a website of that expense). However, because I believe it is worth sharing (I might be a little biased) and I continue to receive requests to see examples of my work, I am finally beginning a blog. A blog, because photographs taken while learning are always a story, especially photographs taken by art students who have been taught to create their work in series and write about it. So here is my story :)
